Abolfazl Amanollah

According to Mehr News Agency, Abolfazl Amanollah, who learned the alphabet of photography experimentally from his father, won the Best Asian Photo Award at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in Brazil1.

Among the notable sports newspapers where he has been active are Iran Varzeshi, Navad, and Goal1.

In 1998, he was appointed by the Perspolis board of directors as a media and communications consultant for the Perspolis Club. Although he has worked more as a sports photographer than as a reporter, his role has been highly significant1.

Abolfazl Amanollah’s photography has captured several important sports moments in the past two decades in Iran. One of his famous photos shows Ali Karimi striking medical equipment during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, which garnered considerable attention. Another iconic image is of Carlos Queiroz clenching his fist after Iran’s victory against South Korea in Ulsan, South Korea, securing Iran’s qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil1.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance awarded him a second-degree artistic certificate in the field of photography. This recognition is equivalent to a postgraduate degree and acknowledges his participation in four World Cups, four Asian Cups, the London Olympics, and two Asian Games
